Briggs & Stratton 30663 Gas Powered Portable Generator Review
When buying a generator, you want a name that will get the job done. Backed by over 100 years of innovation, Briggs & Stratton is synonymous with quality and trust. Headquartered in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, they are the world’s largest producer of gas engines for outdoor power equipment and a leading designer of power tools such as the portable generator and currently serves over 100 countries worldwide. We evaluated the 330663 Gas Powered Portable Generator and selected this model as one of our Top Ten Best portable generators for performance, durability, and affordability.
If it is durability you are searching for in a generator, look no further. This Briggs & Stratton 330663 generator steps up to the plate with an impressive 7.5 gallon fuel tank that will run for an impressive 9 hours of continuous operation on a full tank at 50 percent load. Delivering 7000 watts of continuous output and 8750 watts of starting power, this generator isn’t fooling around in terms of performance.
As part of the 7000 Watt Elite Series, this model allows you to power up more appliances for a longer duration, and features a 2100 series OHV 420cc engine that will produce 21 foot pounds of torque. The 12-inch never-go-flat wheels make it so much easier to transport this generator in and out of storage, or to new locations. And the convenient “T” handle makes transporting this unit easy with two people.
The ample amount of outlets on this unit include four 120 volt receptacles, and one 120/240 volt 30 amp receptacle with circuit breaker protection. For monitoring gas levels, there is a handy fuel gauge and hour meter. The super low-tone muffler and electric key start with remote choke provides fast, easy starting from one location, effortlessly. A battery is also included for easier starting.
B&S generators have good shock absorbers built in that reduce vibration – not only providing a quieter operation, but increasing their service life. This Briggs & Stratton power generator comes with engine oil, quick start guide, and an operator’s manual and includes a 3-year limited warranty that protects against any defects in materials and workmanship.
Because Life Happens
Whether you are dealing with a sudden power outage due to inclement weather like a hurricane, thunderstorm or snowstorm, or even if you are searching for that perfect power companion to take on your next camping venture, you want a generator that is not only easy to transport, but reliable and powerful enough to handle several appliances and devices for hours at a time. In this day and age of reliance on our electronics, life can be a bit devastating when the power grid shuts down, or is non-existent.
Instead of suffering though a bit of the Dark Ages, having a portable generator as a backup provides an excellent short-term solution for restoring adequate power back to your daily operations, and fills that gap until power is restored. When the power grid goes down, look to a portable generator for an excellent short-term solution to get back online without the expense or maintenance of a full-sized home generator.
Why We Liked It
This larger unit is badass when it comes to powering a heavier supply of appliances. Still very user friendly, this unit came easy to assemble – just add wheels and battery – And we tested it to run several larger appliances like an air compressor, microwave, refrigerator and freezer smoothly for hours on end. For all the power it packs, it was still a relatively quiet unit with good shock absorbers, and rolled around the house with little effort. This unit is so impressive, it will (almost) make you look forward to your next outage.
As one of North America’s largest supplier of portable generators, Briggs & Stratton is committed to providing only the premium combination of power, performance and value. This 330663 Gas Powered Portable Generator is well-built, powerful, and ready to work for you.
