Technical Specs

This professional duty circular saw is cordless which means it can work at any height or angle conveniently without having to worry about accidentally yanking the cord out. It is powered by an 18 volt NiCad battery cell which is sold separately. The saw uses a 6-1/2 inch carbide tipped blade to utilize twice the cutting capacity at both 90 and 45 degrees. A cut depth of 2-1/4 inches at 90 degrees and 1-5/8 inches at 45 degrees. The 0-50 degree bevel capacity makes the saw useful in a variety of applications.

Design

A high strength magnesium shoe and upper guard is designed to provide more durability while the vibration-dampening rubber grip handle provides comfort for extended or larger jobs. The motor cooling fan has replaceable brushes and provides further durability and maximum power. The 6-1/2 inch thin-kerfs blade rotates at a whopping 3,700 RPM and can easily slice through all 2-by dimensional lumber making it perfect for wood applications. The saw weighs 6.3 pounds which makes it capable of handling the tough bigger jobs.

Material

The magnesium shoe and upper guard are what sets this saw apart from its aluminum shoed counterparts.  The blade is carbide tipped for extra strength and protection against wear and tear. This saw is backed by a three year limited warranty which covers any defects or faulty workmanship on the device.

Uses

Designed for the tougher diy or renovating applications. The 3.700 RPM allows for faster rip cuts as well as cross cuts. It cordless design makes it easy to use in places where an electrical outlet is not readily available or where dangling wires would pose a safety threat, The DC390B can easily cut through 2-by dimensional lumber making it a versatile tool for all wood applications.

The vibration-dampening technology provides maximum comfort for larger jobs and is great for users suffering from arthritis and painful joints. Can be used to cut through softwood, hard wood, particle board and virtually any other sheet wood.

Other Important Specs

This bare tool is cordless which makes it easy to set up and use where there is no power outlet.  This cordless tool however does not come standard with a charger or batteries but it is totally compatible with DC9096 18 volt XRP battery pack.  Charging the units simple and easy using the DW9117 charger which only takes 15 minutes to charge fully.
