Husqvarna 455 Rancher 2-Stroke Gas-ChainSaw Review
The Husqzvarna 455 Rancher 2-Stroke Gas Chainsaw is a lightweight, heavy-duty saw that’s great for anyone looking for something that can handle the larger jobs that may come up around the home, cottage, or farm. The Rancher packs near-professional-standard power with its 55.5 cc engine and 20-inch bar, but that doesn’t mean it’s too much for a homeowner to handle. The Rancher’s relative light weight (it clocks in at just under 13 pounds), as well as safety and efficiency features like a decompression valve for simple start up, ample hand protection, and the low vibration rate caused by Husqvarna’s X-Torq engine, make it an effortless and comfortable tool to use.
While a smaller fuel tank does mean that it will need to be filled more regularly than other saws, the Rancher’s centrifugal air cleaning system means that you’ll need to clean the air filters less often as larger debris and dust particles are eliminated before entering the filter. Also, the X-Torq engine is CARB compliant, and cuts fuel consumption by up to 20 percent and emissions by up to 60, making it a more energy efficient and environmentally-conscious purchase than other gas-powered chainsaws.
This Husqvarna model is probably a little overkill if all you’re looking to do is some light pruning or you want to remove a few limbs here and there, but if you need to regularly fell trees on a large property or prepare firewood, the Husqvarna 455 Rancher is the best way to go.
